Love this!!! I love me some metaphors and this is so good. I am an average cat it would seem! 😸 And, thank you for reminding us that "perfection" in either ourselves or partner is not only unattainable and if that's what you're seeking, you'll never get it. It's OK to be a "work in progress" <- I needed that reminder 💕

We are all and will forever be a work in progress. ESPECIALLY when it comes to relationships ❤️

Great podcast! I am pretty sure I’m an average cat and my love language is time. I always tell my husband his love language is acts of service….specifically plugging in my electronics so they are ready for me when I get home from work. 😁

You're welcome ❤️ Was there anything you didn't know yet in there?

Maggie I learned that it’s much more fun to think of myself as a “grumpy cat” 🐈‍⬛ 😂 than to think of myself as tending towards avoidance. 🙃

It also made me really think about how easy it is for us to focus on the negative parts of our own or attachment styles.

Like it’s not great that I tend towards being a grumpy cat lol, but I’m also likely much more capable of helping a hungry cat friend learn about how to draw boundaries.

And a hungry cat friend is much more likely to love me in a way that can help me dare to open up and move closer to a healthy attachment style.

That is EXACTLY why I chose nicer terms to describe it. I personally am/was a Hungry Cat and always hated the fact people just see it as being a clinger. And I totally agree with you, we can learn from each other! ❤️

I’d say the 5 love languages and finding the one that works for you. I have often said that I am a pretty happy balance of them, but also like you think there’s other ones out there. Food is definitely one!

I find that there's often at least one that jumps out a little. For me that's touch and acts of service, for example.

I would say touch is definitely mine that jumps out. But if intellectual conversation was a love language that would also be big for me.

That would be spending (quality) time together 😊

I suppose so yeah! That might be my biggest on then actually.

You definitely need to get food included as a love language category!! 🍱
